This is Why We Ride
How it Began and the Riders Who Make it All Possible

The Ride for Our Vets 2020
June 13, 2020
Point72 Corporate Headquarters
Stamford, CT

Everyone joins the ride for a reason. Why do you ride?

"Seems to me that cycling 100 miles is nothing compared to the sacrifices Veterans have made for us. We all need to work hard to see that Veterans have the medical care they need, decent homes to live in and meaningful jobs. Thankfully CVLC helps our Veterans get there. "
- Len Miller, Founder of The Ride for Our Vets
It started with 100 miles and a commitment to Veterans
Len Miller started “The Ride for Our Vets” in 2012 with a handful of friends who cycled over 100 miles from Stamford to Len’s home in Essex to raise money for and awareness of the legal needs of veterans.
In just a few years, Len transformed The Ride from a backyard get together into CVLC’s largest fundraiser, with over 100 riders covering over 4,000 miles nearly every year.
In total, the Ride has raised over $1 million for veterans in need. The Ride is a chance for us to give back to those who gave so much for our country.

Mike Towey, Point72 Pacesetters
“They put themselves at risk while protecting our country, and now they need our help as COVID-19 has the potential to be highly disruptive to our community of veterans... It’s more important than ever to fund CVLC so they can help veterans in need to get back on their feet.”
Perry Boyle, Point72 Pacesetters
"I’m a big believer in the mission of CVLC – both in who they help and how they help them. CVLC works with our most vulnerable veterans to get them the housing and the healthcare services that they deserve. They do it in an incredibly efficient manner. The staff is lean and martials thousands of hours of pro bono legal work.”

Dora Vasquez-Hellner, Army Veteran
Team RWB
"Our veterans need all the support we can give them. Supporting CVLC is one way we can give back to our veterans.”

Tammy Marzik, Team DVA
"Being part of the Ride with my colleagues not only brought us together for a great day outside of our typical working environment, it created another way for us to be part of something that we are all very passionate about, Serving Those Who Served”. (DVA’s Motto)
Jeffrey Udell, Team Udell
"Finishing the Ride is the best part. You feel like you really accomplished something ... When you take on the challenge of the Ride, you are making a small sacrifice yourself to improve the lives of veterans, who have already made a large sacrifice for all of us.”
