“In just a few short weeks, we have seen the strength of our medical-legal partnership rise to the challenges created by the COVID pandemic. There has never been a greater need for ensuring veterans have access to health care, are able to secure adequate income, and don't become homeless. These social determinants of health are clearly now life or death for so many of CVLC clients and the surge of new clients we are planning to serve.”
Liam Brennan, Executive Director
Our Veterans Need You Now More Than Ever
In consultation with our medical partners at the VA and our Ride corporate partner, Point72, we determined that it was best to transform the Ride from a physical gathering to a virtual one. We made this decision with three goals in mind:
- Your Health – Encouraging you to isolate but to care for your physical and mental health by getting outside to ride (or walk, hike, etc.) is what we call a “mission positive!”
- Veterans’ Health – CVLC clients are in the most high-risk category for coronavirus and need help now to gain access to healthcare, stay housed, and gain access to income benefits.
- Staying Connected - Even though we will ride alone–together we can practice strength and resilience, and give back to all those who served our country and now need our help.
What is a Virtual Ride?
While we won't be together physically, we can stay connected virtually through customized personal challenges.
Here's how to Ride Your Way:
- Choose Your Personal Challenge. Ride, run, walk, hike or do another activity.
- Choose How to Complete It. Finish your challenge on Saturday, June 13th or throughout the month of June.
You can customize your personal challenge however you want!
One day, one ride, many locations – connected virtually!
Help Veterans Right Now
CVLC has seen a surge of veterans asking for legal assistance in the last week related to coronavirus. We anticipate the demand will only increase. As unemployment skyrockets, veterans are losing employer-based healthcare and VA eligible veterans are still being turned away at the door.
Our attorneys can help give veterans access VA healthcare now, but we need your help.
For every dollar raised, CVLC generates $15 in tangible benefits for our veteran clients.

Join The Cause and Support Our Veterans
The Ride for Our Vets is the only charity bike ride supporting Connecticut veterans. All funds go to the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC) to provide free legal representation for veterans suffering from mental illness and homelessness.
In 2019, fundraisers raised an average of $600! We give you the tools to be a successful fundraiser for the cause.
From registration to ride day, The Ride Support Team has your back. We will help you raise funds and training tips to give you the most successful and enjoyable Ride experience. Our variety of route suggestions and Rider Coach support will give you a fitting challenge and a game plan to succeed.
We encourage you to ride in honor of a veteran, individually or with a team. Click the link below to learn more about how to register and ride!
