Senate demands that the VA allow veterans with bad paper to apply for healthcare
Senate leaders take action in response to the recent report published by the Legal Services Center (LSC) at Harvard University. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) joined by Senators Jon Tester (D-MT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Ed Markey (D-MA), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Kamala Harris (D-CA) sent a letter to Department of Veterans’ Affair (VA) Secretary Robert Wilkie to demand that he take immediate action to comply with federal law to allow veterans with Other Than Honorable, or bad paper, discharges to apply for VA health care.
The recent report details the numerous cases of eligible veterans being turned away at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) when applying for healthcare benefits. With cases found in 38 states and the District of Columbus, this is a national crisis.
Thank you to Senate leaders for pushing the VA to comply with federal law and allow veterans to apply for the healthcare they deserve. CVLC is proud to continue to serve all those who serve in fighting for veterans and their rights.
