CVLC’s mission is to provide free legal services to veterans facing homelessness and mental illness to overcome the legal barriers to healthcare, housing, and income. During this pandemic, it has never been more important to ensure that veterans have access to healthcare and don’t become homeless. To help CVLC meet these goals, we are proud to announce the induction of seven new members to our Board of Directors. With diverse backgrounds and unique experiences, our new board members will help CVLC continue to deliver life-changing legal services to veterans across Connecticut and the United States.

Last year, CVLC committed to creating a more robust and diverse Board of Directors. We are proud to welcome Joe Cherico, Margaret Donovan, Rosendo Garza, Paul Greatsinger, Erik Lohr, Aza Mosley, and Stephan Rice.

Joe Cherico: Joe is an attorney and the office managing partner for the Stamford office of McCarter & English.  Joe is a graduate of Fordham University and Fordham Law School. He has nearly 25 years of experience representing corporate clients in litigation throughout Connecticut and New York.  Joe has been a long-time supporter of the CVLC and has devoted a significant amount of time to representing veterans on a pro bono basis.

Margaret Donovan: Margaret is an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Connecticut, and a former Army JAG officer who served six years on active duty, including two combat deployments and a number of other overseas assignments.  She lives in Hamden with her husband Kevin Donovan, who is an assistant professor of economics at the Yale School of Management.

Rosendo Garza: Rosendo is a Marine infantry officer, currently serving in the Reserves. After leaving active duty, he graduated from the UCONN School of Law and now works with Day Pitney as an Energy attorney. He is married to Juliana Garcia-Uribe, an immigration attorney, and they have three children.

Paul Greatsinger: Paul is a UCONN graduate and a retired Marine Infantry Officer who is now a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.  He is married to Ginny Greatsinger, who is also a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor, and has three adult children

Erik Lohr: Erik is a former Navy submariner and nuclear reactor operator who graduated with honors from UConn Law in 2002. He now serves as the head of defensive litigation within the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office.  Erik is married to Paula Lohr, who is the Human Resources Officer for the Connecticut Chief Public Defender’s Office; they live in Granby, CT with their eight-year-old daughter and ten-year-old son.

Aza Mosley: Aza is Counsel for the State of Connecticut (CT), Department of Insurance (DOI). She provides legal support to the Life and Health Division and serves on the DOI’s Inclusion Council.  She is married to Mr. Sean Mosley and they reside in Waterbury, CT.

Stephan Rice: Steve is a former Army Judge Advocate who now works at the Pratt & Whitney division of Raytheon Technologies, where he is Associate General Counsel for the Military Engines business. Steve earned his commission through the Army ROTC program at Syracuse University, and is also a graduate of George Washington University and Harvard University. He is married to Lisa Rice, who is a librarian at the town library in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where they live with their two elementary-aged boys.
