Spotlight: Army Veteran Kevin S.
Connecticut Veterans Legal Center is proud to work every day to secure veterans’ access to the benefits they earned. Army Veteran Kevin S. shares his story below:
After noticing my application to the VA for healthcare benefits had been denied, a case manager through the Wounded Warriors project had suggested I accept help from a lawyer who works for Connecticut Veterans Legal Center. After some time, but of no fault of her own, I received a call from Attorney Janice Wolf.
She explained who she was, how she could help me, and the circumstances to which my particular case was being reviewed. I found out that they were reviewing the type of discharge and also if my treatment in the Army deserved a service connection and disability rating.
Because of Janice’s help, the service connection was granted for two types of disability: one an anxiety disorder and the other a torn meniscus. I cannot express the gratitude I feel towards [Connecticut Veterans Legal Center] and the amount of psychological freedom their service has granted me. As a veteran, I cannot recommend them enough if you feel as though the VA or military has not been accountable for your experiences.
