Earlier this month Juliet Taylor and Brianna Jarvis from CVLC’s intake team attended the DAV & DAV Auxiliary National Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. DAV and DAV Auxiliary members nationwide gathered at the Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City to brainstorm and share ideas for a single purpose: how do we empower veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.

Juliet represented not just CVLC but also the entire State of Connecticut as a member of the National Interim Women’s Interim Committee, that Past Commander of CT Department of Disabled American Veterans, and as a member of the DAV Local Veteran Assistant Program, community support and advocacy. 

Juliet and her daughter, Rachel—who is a member of the Air Force, stationed at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ—organized and facilitated making goody bags for 350 women veteran attendees with items donated by Thrive Causemetics and Bombas socks. 

In addition to attending, Juliet spoke on the Women’s Seminar at the Conference titled My Journey. This workshop focused on the needs of women veterans, with an emphasis placed on VET Center services and the need for legal support. Juliet also touched on CVLC’s recent Racial Disparities report from 2022. 

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, informative, and well-attended.
