We understand that there is a great concern. At this time (1/30/2025), we are not aware of ANY legal or policy changes that would impact a Veteran’s status as a citizen. If you receive official communication or otherwise are concerned, we strongly encourage you to contact an immigration attorney for guidance. We have listed organizations we know and trust below.
The Connecticut Bar Association has a tool to help you identify an attorney based on practice area, geographic location, and language spoken at this link.
According to The Immigrant Learning Center, there are more than 530,000 immigrant Veterans. The majority of these Veterans are naturalized citizens, although the process is not automatic and their family members may have different status. Connecticut Veterans Legal Center unequivocally thanks these Veterans and servicemembers for their service, and we value your contribution to our military and to our country.
