Become a Volunteer
"I always enjoy volunteering with great organizations like CVLC because it gives me the opportunity to give back to and support underserved and vulnerable parts of my community."

Ways to Volunteer
Join the Pro Bono Network
Our most-urgent need is for attorneys to join our Pro Bono Attorney Network, allowing us to leverage our capacity to serve more Veterans across the state. All of our pro bono attorneys receive training, if applicable, and are partnered with an experienced staff attorney to ensure a positive experience and outcome for both the volunteer and the Veteran.

Volunteer at an Event
Throughout the year we host a variety of events that we are always looking for volunteers for. This includes our two largest events – the Saluting Service gala and Run.Walk.Ride., a fundraising walk/run/ride-a-thon. In addition we are also always looking for extra support when CVLC attends community events and/or when we host smaller gatherings for the community.
Tell Your Story
There is nothing more powerful than hearing your story. Whether you have been a client or just feel that our work resonates with you, we would love for you to help us share information.
There are many ways you can help:
- Be interviewed for a written story
- Speak at an event or press conference
- Talk about CVLC at one of your Veteran or non-Veteran affiliated events
- Write letters of support or call your government representatives to thank them for supporting us and/or to advocate for bills that will make Veterans lives better
Please note: if you are a current client, please talk to your attorney/contact before reaching out to us–they will gladly connect you! Veterans with current legal cases pending may be encouraged NOT to speak publicly until their legal case is resolved.
Volunteer or Intern in the Office
We believe strongly in the value of volunteer service–your unique skills help us leverage our resources while also broadening the community of care for the Veterans we serve. Because we are a hybrid organization, you can volunteer from home or anywhere in the world. We welcome people of all ages, abilities, skill level, and life experiences.
Currently, we are in greatest need of volunteers to support:
- Copywriting and editing/proofreading
- Grant writing
- Outreach volunteers (in-person)
- Fundraising
- Graphic design
- Translation for written communications and/or event-specific (in-person), including ASL
