Ella Bunnell

Ella Bunnell is a CVLC legal intern and a second-year student at Yale Law School. She is deeply committed to social and economic justice work, and is involved in Yale Law’s Civil Rights Project, Temporary Restraining Order Project, and Election Law Society. This past summer, she was an Equal Justice America Fellow at Lawyers for Civil Rights in Boston, her hometown. Prior to law school, she was a Policy Fellow at the National Vote at Home Institute and a Mitchell Scholar at Queen’s University Belfast, where she studied Conflict Transformation. Her master’s dissertation regarding transitional police accountability and legitimacy appears in a recent issue of the International Criminal Justice Review.

Justin Yamamura

Justin Yamamura is a junior at Yale College from San Francisco majoring in Political Science with an Advanced Language Certificate in Spanish. He has been working at CVLC since February 2019 through Dwight Hall at Yale’s Urban Fellows Program and is excited to return this year. During his time at CVLC, he has worked closely with the Director of Development, conducting data analysis, research, outreach, and social media and website maintenance.

At Yale, Justin serves as the Co-President of the Japanese American Students Union, works as a residential college aide for Grace Hopper College, and has served as a Student Liaison for the World Fellows Program. He was selected to conduct original research related to Japanese American incarceration during World War II through the Asian American Cultural Center at Yale’s Satoda Scholars Program.

Outside of classes and activities you can find Justin running to the top of East Rock or playing and watching basketball. He also has a passion for learning languages: he is learning Portuguese and French. In the future, he hopes to attend law school and get involved in politics or diplomacy.

Anne Lee

Anne Lee is a freshman at Yale College with an interest in history and political philosophy. She also loves everything in the humanities, whether it’s Classics or art history. She is passionate about the power of storytelling in honoring those who have served our country, so she is excited to join the CVLC and share the stories of successful legal representation for our veterans. At Yale, she is also involved with assistant directing for a theatre production and participates in the Yale Political Union. She hopes to find more free time throughout the year to take ballet classes and read books outside of coursework for fun.
